Following our 3-step process is the quickest and easiest way to get rid of your scrap auto or unwanted car.
Strathmore is a straight shot from our yard: 16 Avenue NE becomes the Trans-Canada, and 51 kilometres later you are in town. Forty-three minutes on a normal day. With just over 14,000 people, the third-largest rodeo in Canada every August long weekend, and Wheatland County farmland on every side, Strathmore sends us a real mix of vehicles: commuter cars that made the daily drive to Calgary until they could not, trailer-pulling pickups, and grain-farm trucks that retired years ago.
We pay $100 to $10,000 for all of them and include the tow. There is no charge for the drive out and no deduction for a vehicle that does not run. For a cash for junk cars Strathmore quote, call 403-390-0585 at any hour.
Strathmore shares a route with Chestermere and Langdon, and we are on the Trans-Canada east several times a week. A morning call will often get a same-day afternoon pickup; later calls are booked for the next eastbound run. Tell us the street, whether the vehicle is in Westmount, Strathaven, Hillview or on a farm past the town limits, and how much room there is to back a flatbed in.
The commuter cars we get from Strathmore are usually high-kilometre sedans and small SUVs with a dead engine or transmission. They pay in the lower to middle part of our range, more if the body is straight and the interior is clean. Farm trucks and diesels from Wheatland County are heavier and carry more resale parts, so they pay better. We do not ask you to fix anything or clean anything before we come. Hail is a fact of life in Wheatland County, and a hailed-out vehicle with a sound drivetrain is often worth more than its owner expects, because the mechanical parts are untouched. Send a couple of photos with your call if you want a firmer figure.
Strathmore’s registry agent is Gold Key Registry at 233 3 Avenue. After we take the vehicle, bring your plate and our bill of sale there to cancel the registration, then tell your insurer. For the sale itself we need the registration certificate, current or expired, or a bill of sale in your name, plus photo ID. Alberta has no provincial scrap program, so the bill of sale we give you is the record that the vehicle changed hands.
The highway east of Chestermere gets ground drifting and whiteouts when the wind comes up, and there are days the RCMP close it. On those days we shift Strathmore pickups by a day and let you know. Farmyards near Strathmore can also be soft in April and May. If the vehicle is sitting on dirt rather than gravel, mention it and we will plan for a winch pull rather than trying to drive up to it.
Same day is common if you call in the morning, because our trucks head east on the Trans-Canada most days. Afternoon and evening calls are usually booked for the next day with a set window, and we text when the driver leaves Chestermere.
No. Most of what we buy in Strathmore does not run. Price depends on year, model, weight and which parts are still good, not on whether it starts.
Yes. Leave the hitch and canopy on if you do not want them; they do not affect the offer much either way. If you want to keep them, take them off before the driver arrives.
Yes. Farms along Highway 817 and the range roads around Strathmore are within our normal pickup area at no extra charge. Describe the approach and any gates when you book.
The registration certificate proves ownership even after it expires. If you cannot find it, an old bill of sale with your name on it works. The registry can also print a record of past registration.
