Following our 3-step process is the quickest and easiest way to get rid of your scrap car or unwanted car.
Black Diamond and Turner Valley merged into the Town of Diamond Valley on 1 January 2023, but people still say Black Diamond, so this page does too. The combined town has about 5,300 residents at the junction of Highway 22, the Cowboy Trail, and Highway 7. From our yard on 6a Street NE it is Deerfoot south, Highway 22X west to Highway 22, then south through Millarville: about 70 kilometres and just under an hour.
Foothills living means trucks, and most of what we buy around Black Diamond is a half-ton or three-quarter-ton that towed horses or a holiday trailer until something expensive broke. We also get plenty of aging commuter cars from people who drove to south Calgary every day. All of it earns $100 to $10,000 cash with a free tow. Call 403-390-0585 for a quote.
We go to Okotoks constantly, and Black Diamond is another twenty minutes west on Highway 7, so we can usually add it to an existing southern run within a day or two. Tell us which side of the old town line you are on, whether the vehicle is in town, on an acreage off Highway 22, or up a foothills driveway, and the driver will plan for the grade and the turnaround.
Trucks that have towed trailers up and down the Cowboy Trail for fifteen years usually die from transmissions and rear ends, not rust. That leaves a lot of good parts, so those trucks pay in the middle to upper part of our range. Subarus and small SUVs that did the commute to Calgary are priced on engine condition and body. A vehicle that is only worth its weight in steel still gets a cash payment and the tow is on us. We also buy quads, side-by-sides and small trailers if they are going out with the vehicle, and we price each item separately so you can see the breakdown.
The registry agent for the amalgamated town is Diamond Valley Registries and Licensing at 105-118 Main Street, on the former Turner Valley side. Cancel your registration there after we take the vehicle, bringing the plate and our signed bill of sale. To sell, show us the registration certificate or an old bill of sale in your name and photo ID. Current registration is not required. Take the plate off before we load; it belongs to you.
Driveways in the foothills west of Black Diamond can be steep, long and gravel, and snow comes earlier and stays later than in the city. A loaded flatbed on an icy grade is a bad idea, so when the forecast turns we may move a pickup a day. Tell us if the vehicle is at the top of a hill or across a creek crossing. In summer the drive is one of the nicer ones we make, and it does not affect what you are paid.
Officially Diamond Valley, since 1 January 2023, when Black Diamond and Turner Valley amalgamated. We cover the whole town and the surrounding foothills, whichever name you use.
Yes. Turner Valley is now part of the same town, and Millarville is on our route down Highway 22. Free towing applies to all of them.
In most cases. Tell us the grade and whether there is room to turn a flatbed around at the top. In winter we may wait for a clear day rather than risk the truck on ice.
Not until the lien is cleared. We check before paying. Pay out the balance or get a release from the lender, then call us and we book the pickup.
On what is left: engine, axles, frame, box and cab. A truck with a good engine and a bad transmission still has plenty of value and sits well above scrap price. Tell us the year and model for a real figure.
